MCSO assists in felony arrest warrant of an Oregon man
On Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at approximately 3:30pm, several U.S. Postal Inspectors met with Mono County Sheriff’s Deputies at the Administrative Offices in Bridgeport for assistance with a felony arrest warrant.
Mono County Sheriff’s Deputies assisted several U.S. Postal Inspectors with an out-of-state felony arrest warrant, out of Oregon, for David Charles Corkett, age 52. Mr. Corkett was wanted on felony child pornography charges and was believed to be living in the Bridgeport area. Deputies located Mr. Corkett, arrested him without incident, and transported him to the Mono County Jail.
Mono County Sheriff’s Deputies have had prior contact with Mr. Corkett. On January 31, 2013, he attempted suicide at the Mono Basin Visitor’s Center in Lee Vining by a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the chest. He was transported to Renown Medical Center in Reno for treatment and recovery. He survived the self-inflicted gunshot wound and relocated back to the Bridgeport area.
Mr. Corkett is currently in custody in the Mono County Jail with felony child pornography charges pending with Clatsop County, Oregon.

I worked many years handling major fraud cases,,, Postal Inspectors are Federal Law Enforcement Officers… You want to get some serious time in Federal Prison, commit a felony under the Postal act….They are excellent investigators..
U.S. Postal Inspectors arrested him with assistance from Mono County Sheriff?? As in Postal Inspectors working for the Post Office? Am I understanding correctly? There are Postal Inspectors and they can arrest people?

You have a beef with anyone in the Postal Service write the postmaster general that’s one federal agency where the plumbing works well. It rolls down hill fast and everyone has to answer to it.
