Are these daily and numrerous COMMON SENSE warnings from the “authorities” about fast-running waters here in the Owens Valley getting to be annoying or what ?….if I hear or see “turn around-don’t drown” one more time, I’m gonna pull out my hair !!
better than reading about drownings

My bet is, we’ll be rerading about more drownings in these fast-running high-waters before the tourist season ends…. that is IF it ever ends…wheather people are getting these monthly, weekly, daily, hourly by the minute “warnings ” or not..
People can be warned about it and know about it ,but that doesn’t mean common sense will then kick into play…
I had a “to-go” breakfast the other morning parked next to a very fast-moving creek…but I had no desire to jump in the water to see where it would take me.. knowing if I did, I’d probably end up in the aquaduct miles away.
Common sense told me to stay out of the water moving that fast and hard, without being told and warned not to do it..
Many tourists have no idea, simple as that. They need to be told, and you don’t need to waste your energy complaining about it.

Yep….
LOTS of tourist babysitting needed this Spring and Summer ahead…
Just kinda sad how common sense has evolved and eroded downward the past 5-10 years or so.
