Pro-Trump voters have been gathering in front of the Bishop City Park for the past several weeks on Saturdays for what they call “Rally for Freedom.”
They’ve also held vehicle rallies at 5:30 p.m. recently every Friday in what they call “Rolling for Trump.”
Anyone, they say can join them. Those interested are invited to meet at the middle parking lot at the Bishop City Park to line up and put flags on vehicles at 5:15 p.m. this Friday, Oct. 30. Voters are also asked to join them at “The Freedom Rally” on Main Street at 10 a.m., on the Saturday, Oct. 31, before the election, next week on Tuesday, November 3.
Flags, signs, posters and patriotic attire are welcome, says event organizer, Lynette Mcintosh. All rallies are safe, lawful, peaceful and respectful.

So, are the Trumpies now gonna have a rally to protest the “stolen election”?
Can’t believe these good patriots would abandon him now.
Well, if they do, they are within their rights to do so under the First Amendment.
E.Lection Fraud
I have a feeling the trumpies are going to have the “stolen election ” rallies for days, months, maybe for even years to come, crying and whining “no way did trump lose” even though the election was a landslide as far as electoral votes went, and BURIED as far as popular vote goes, last count trump losing by over 5.7 MILLION Nationwide votes to President Joe Biden and V.P. Kamala Harris.
But let’s not tell them the facts,as if that would do any good anyway.
Let them go on with their trump flag waving, horn honking yelling and screaming gatherings.
I myself find them entertaining and laughable..
This is what I have witnessed with the Trump rally down main street. A guy with his Trump flag flying in a white truck flipping off and yelling f*#! you to 3 young girls holding up Black Lives Matter signs. That to me is pathetic and that shows YOUR TRUE COLORS!.
Sitting here in Arizona at mayo waiting for my wife having surgery reading all this garbage no wonder everyone here hates California people it is sad that where ever liberals go they bring there politics with them. I’ve lived in bishop for 50 years not the same place I moved to you people need to get a life.
I wish your wife the best with her surgery.
Will that socialist Medicare program be covering her medical expenses? Or will you be going into huge debt like so many other less fortunate Americans have?
So Charles, you have a problem with people who have worked 45 years and paid into the Social Security/Medicare system using it?
Tinnier, you never answered the question. You rambled, like Trump, You asked LOW questions and yet refuse to answer Steve. WOW!
Deb, here’s some more rambling, I got plenty, ready?
I answered LOW’s questions in a reply to JaneE’s response who answered first. They weren’t published for whatever reason. it was late maybe I hit the wrong button and Charles never got it.
Short answer is if you believe everything Trump says you deserve the misery you are experiencing, he says whatever is on his mind and that makes him the most transparent president in history, he’s transparent like other presidents say they will be but never are. He says it to get under your (the lefts) skin and they fall for it every single time. I don’t think he lies as much as he doesn’t know what he can and cannot do as president, but he’s not afraid to fail or look like an idiot. Some of the things he says are so ridiculous it’s hilarious, sometimes it’s genius. Successful people say the biggest risk of all is not taking any risk, Trump takes risk every time he talks, his trash talking skills are an A+. You may say that’s not being presidential, well, look where being presidential has gotten this country has got us. They’ve ALL lied, they’ve all sold us out first chance they get.
Have you heard of the Tony Bobulinski story?
Just for kicks let’s say Trump is a liar, he’s only been lying for 4 years compared to Biden lying 47 years, same goes for all the other career politicians that we keep re electing for decades. Our career politician to us are like what a drug is to a drug addict, we don’t see life without them and we don’t see the harm that they are doing to us.
Will I be a good loser? Of course, I was a better lose 4 minutes after Obama won twice than you, Steve and 95% of the left 4 years after Trump won, losing isn’t anything new to me.
I answered your questions now you answer mine, do you have a negative opinion of the American flag? Would you stand on it? Burn it? Anybody else here willing to do that?
In all the years I’ve been posting stuff here on the SW site I’ve never seen such hostility towards any one event and this event is called a Freedom Rally, it’s as if you’re against freedom or something.
Please people, get ahold of yourselves, Trump is only temporary and if we lived through 8 years of Obama we’ll live through 8 years of Trump. Relax.
Tinner
Speaking for myself, what is it about you’re asking if others are willing to “burn the flag” or “step on the flag” ?
What does that have to do with supporting Biden,or trump, for that matter ?
As far as what you say about trump,it’s not being “transparent”,what he says and does.
It’s LYING…..on a daily basis…and especially lately, lies only meant to help his campaign.
Lies people ,if they choose to believe them, that can possibly put themselves and others in danger.
trump IS afraid of losing, failing and looking like an idiot.
That’s why he lies so much..
I,along with it seems many others, don’t see his trash talking skills as “genius” and “A-1”..
People see it as lies, and usually inappropriate and sometimes dangerous lies.
Maybe you see politicians as something people need and can’t live without, claiming “we don’t see life without them “.
That seems more like what you see at those super-spreader trump rallies, like the one a couple days ago, when trump left the stage, many of them bowing down to him, like he’s some type of messiah.
Again, speaking for myself,I can live fine without politicians, actually little effect on us living up here.
What I do have trouble living with is seeing and having a president we can’t at least believe and respect, that’s divided the Country, and has made America the laughing-stock of the world.
So, Tinner, you are willing to continue to accept pure stupidity as the excuse from Trump for another four years? Any employee of the people who “doesn’t know what he can and cannot do” after four years on the job should be fired. It is long overdue.
Stop non-essential travel, do you honestly think any other president knew everything after four years? Please.
That’s why presidents surround themselves with brilliant people, known as ADVISORS. Even when Trump has said or tried to do something he legally can’t his advisors correct him and he moves on or goes about it a different way. If Trump is guilty of anything it’s not checking with his advisors before announcing a plan or an idea. That’s why I say he’s not afraid to fail or look like an idiot. Most if not all successful people have failed a lot and lost a lot before they became successful. Their willingness to keep going and keep learning and never quitting are key components to their success. Every time we fail we learn something, do we not?
The type of “pure stupidity” that I am UNWILLING to accept is that of the american voters, the same stupidity that continues to vote for the same career politicians for decades and decades and who have gotten rich being politicians and who are willing to sell out the American people in order to benefit themselves. Those of us who understand this voted for Trump and will vote for him again. It’s why Trump decided to run for president in the first place and why he uses the phrase “drain the swamp”
How many here have a negative opinion of the American flag?
How many here would stand on or burn the American flag?
Just asking, but judging by some of the tones in these comments I’d guess there is more than one or two.
Tinner
NEWS FLASH !!!
Just because a person supports Joe Biden and doesn’t support trump doesn’t make them un-patriotic,un-American and against the American flag.
With my thinking,quite the contrary.
trump had his chance to serve back in the late 60’s,but instead chose to use the “bone-spur” defense, and his daddy’s money to dodge and weave the draft.
How much of trump’s TOTAL Federal taxes paid in the last 20 years,20 year TOTAL of $1,500,has gone to support our Military ?
He took Federal money from Military spending to build his “wall”…the one Mexico was going to pay for.
Everytime I see trump salute the American Flag,or see Military personal having to salute trump it turns my stomach.
it never surprises how many ill informed people with bad decision making we have here in the eastern sierra, voting or supporting trump is a vote for racism, bigotry, hate, xenophobia, anti American, etc…As many readers mentioned, he has no substance and has no plan for anything his administration does, he has accomplished nothing but failure at a great magnitude. Being American is standing up to Putin and the other dictators of the world. Personally i think he is a communist based on what he has done and how he treats the American people. Being American is giving a hoot about the American people. He has run the country into the ground and knows nothing about running a business, look at the facts people. Dont be fooled by the massive amounts misinformation, trump is the scum of the earth. Even cockroaches provide more utility.
Vote for change, be on the right side of history!!!!!!!
When President Trump was asked during Monday’s news briefing what authority he has to reopen the country, he didn’t hesitate to answer. “I have the ultimate authority,” the president responded, cutting off the reporter who was speaking.
Trump later clarified his position further, telling reporters, “When somebody is the president of the United States, the authority is total and that’s the way it’s got to be. … It’s total. The governors know that.”
The local leaders, Trump said, “can’t do anything without the approval of the president of the United States.”
10 Amendment says otherwise.
Trump has repeatedly falsely stated that article two of the Constitution grants him power to do whatever he wants, it quite obviously doesn’t.
He’s tiresome, his daily lies and obfuscations are worn out.
Interesting – and predictable – that KSRW continues to promote the Trumpies under the guise of “news.”
Your comment only serves to show how little you know about the people that work at Sierra Wave, how the news “works,” or what those working at KSRW “think”, much less our political affiliations and views. Other local news media also covered the Trump rallies as well. And the “Mass Media” is seldom accused of Right-wing bias, unless it’s the political echo chamber at Fox News…or MSNBC or CNN.
Reporting news on “local happenings” is not an endorsement, including news that involves local political events. KSRW also covered the “Black Lives Matter” rallies, “Support our Police” rallies, and “Breast Cancer Awareness” rallies. We are supportive of the people’s right to express their views under our U.S. Constitution, which also includes freedom of the press. People are often angered at news that does not conform to their personal, political or religious beliefs or views. We report on all types of local news, whether or not we agree with it.
While a great many voters, readers, and listeners may disagree with the Trump supporters’ positions on many issues, and object to the profligate co-opting of the American flag and wearing apparel as a political statement or prop to make the argument that somehow “they” are the “only true Americans or patriots,” it is their civil right to do so. As a symbol the flag represents ALL Americans, and it is often used and misused by many people and groups across the political spectrum.
The Flag cannot speak for itself; its “voice” is tied to those that use it (and again, misuse it) or lay claim to it as a symbol for right or wrong, or good or bad, because they often fail to effectively articulate their views without resorting to its use; a fact recognized by the U.S. Supreme Court many years ago. The flag is not an argument. Whether you stand for it, stand on it, kneel or sit down at its presentation; whether you burn it, salute it, honor it or denigrate it, that is your choice and your right as an American citizen to do so. Many people have died fighting, not “for the flag,” as some would argue, but rather for what it represents to them on a personal level, whether that is in wartime or in peacetime on the streets protesting government policies and actions. It’s “not our country, right or wrong; it’s our country regardless because we have a Constitutional right to honor it…as well as to disagree with it. Welcome to America!
It does reveal something that you list MSNBC and (especially) CNN as equivalent to Fox. Media bias analysis puts Fox’s bias further out than *any* left-leaning news source. The nearest major site is “Daily Kos” and even it ranks in a completely different category of slant.
There’s a difference between “acknowledgment” and “revealing.” The only “revealing something” here, is that you have an obvious strongly held bias against Fox News. Personally, I watch all three cable news channels, although I prefer to largely get my news by reading it. The fact is, in the area of bias, almost all the cable news channels demonstrate their “political biases, preferences or leanings” through their reporting by choosing what they report on, and in how they present it to their viewers. In that regard, CNN and MSNBC are every bit as complicit as Fox News when it comes to outright bias and manipulation of the news and issues. There are no “innocents” in this war for the hearts, minds, and viewership of cable news. The best antidote to “fake news” or “bias” is to gather information from a wide-range of news sources, including a few with whom you don’t particularly like or even normally agree. “The truth is out there,” but no one in their right mind should say it is easy to find. Thanks for your comment, but again, you’re way off the mark.
The “all sides are equally bad” fallacy is popular, but flawed. Here’s some academic analysis of the bias and reliability of a wide spread of news sources.
https://www.adfontesmedia.com/interactive-media-bias-chart-2/
The fact is, the left simply does not have a massively-funded propaganda network like the right does.
https://www.cjr.org/analysis/as-election-looms-a-network-of-mysterious-pink-slime-local-news-outlets-nearly-triples-in-size.php
“leans a bit to one side” does not equal or balance out “blatant propaganda”
Tinner
And I’m sure your next question is “When has trump ever lied ?…tell me one time”
That’s the one I get a kick out of the most, even more than what you’re asking “Low”.
Two things to these supporters.
If you win, what do you do to get the rest of America to support you?
If you lose, will you be a good loser?
I fly the American flag that stands for all of us. It’s not a party flag.
Steve, actually it IS a party flag, ever been to a 4th of July celebration? Flags everywhere, it’s a party.
Ever been to a sporting event where the national anthem was sung and there is a big giant flag on display, it’s a party.
Ever seen a group of military personnel returning from an overseas deployment and seeing their families for the first time in a year? There are flags everywhere, it’s a party.
What does the flag mean to you?
I’ll guess you didn’t vote for Trump in 2016, I did, I partied. Were you a good loser?
Tinner, I am a good loser. In 2016 I said he would be the worst president ever. I was right about that, there are so many things he has done to this country that is bad for so many of us, to many to list.
I have just one vote so I cast it every time I can. I do not expect to change your vote.
I feel it is wrong of a political party to wrap them self’s in the American flag, claiming to be the only true American’s.
You did not answer my questions, what are you going to do to win my support? Will you be a good loser?
I also like the purple finger for voting. Everyone votes one time and get’s their finger dipped in purple ink that will stay on your finger for weeks. That way you can only vote once and you can see who voted.
Steve, oh I’m sorry, I didn’t know I was required to answer your question or maybe I feel I don’t need your support.
I too have only one vote, I’m not gonna waste much time trying to win the support of others, just the opposite, I’m going to support others the best I can.
“Ask not what your country can do for you….” JFK. Remember that one?
Purple Rain, Deep Purple, purple bubble gum, purple ice cream and maybe even purple hair I can do but a “purple finger for voting? Aren’t we kinda beyond that? Isn’t that going backwards? Don’t pick your nose.
How would that work with mail in voting or even absentee voting?
Answer: it won’t.
I can understand wondering if somebody voted or not but why do you need to “see who voted”? What business is that of yours? Why not just worry about yourself?
.
Holy S*$#!, we are circling the drain folks. So sad that people support such an immoral person. Sigh.
I fully support these people showing support for their candidate of choice. Personally, I’m not interested in another 4 years of being lied to on a daily basis. So I’ll pass on these rallies and I’ll vote accordingly. That aside, regardless of who you support, everyone go and vote!
Charles O,Jones
I couldn’t agree more with what you said there.
After four years of DAILY lies, kinda scary thinking of what 4 more years of DAILY lies would do to this Country.
I’m heading up to Bishop next Thursday, November 8th, to get my Dog named Chloeno groomed, and while I’m killing time,I’ll be sure to stop by the City Park….we’ll see if they’re still there pushing their product.
It’s ironic how so many of his supporters also wave an American flag when Trump has made so many anti-American and unconstitutional comments about what he wants to do with America.
Low, please provide one anti American comment, one unconstitutional comment and please explain “what he wants to do with America” that you feel is so wrong or disagree with.
I hear a lot Trump haters say what you say but rarely if ever do they provide any substance to their comments, it’s nothing but spewing of hatred. It says a lot about what kind of heart they have.
Tinner, it is difficult to say if Trump is or is not speaking seriously, but
1) His assertion of “unlimited” power is unconstitutional. The powers of the presidency are limited. He has said he is altering existing law with his EOs which is also unconstitutional.
2) one of his first acts was “to keep the Muslims out”. This was modified to because that was unconstitutional, and instead only persons from certain Muslim majority countries were excluded.
3) his stated desire/intent/expectation for a third term, if acted upon, is unconstitutional.
4) his stated intent/desire to investigate or incarcerate political opponents is unconstitutional. His support for a return to “enhanced interrogation” techniques for suspects, and his support and encouragement of extrajudicial actions against suspects/political opponents would be unconstitutional if acted upon.
A president with unlimited power to rule by decree and use the powers of the federal government to punish those he disagrees with – sounds a lot like George III. We rejected that a long time ago.
You’re correct, all of your arguments are valid, thank you.
Your opening statement is where the answer lies, “it is difficult to say if Trump is or is not speaking seriously”
You should know by now to take a lot of what he says with a grain of salt.
Often he says whatever he’s thinking and sometimes it’s so ridiculous that it’s hilarious and he doesn’t care. A LOT of what he says is pure sarcasm and he says it just to get under the skin of those who constantly criticize and oppose him and they fall for it every single time and it’s pure comedy to watch them lose their minds, such suckers, they’ll never learn.
You can say that he’s not presidential or that he doesn’t take the presidency seriously, I disagree, I think he takes it very seriously, he just has a lot of fun doing it.
The reason he was elected is because most of America had grown tired of presidents telling us one thing but doing another. That’s almost impossible for Trump because he can’t keep his mouth shut and says what’s on his mind. Most transparent president in history.
He’s much like a confident, maybe overly confident, overly cocky and arrogant cage fighter. Having one or all of those traits is almost a requirement to be a successful president or cage fighter. Trump has all of those traits plus a sarcastic sense of humor, he’s funny even when he’s not always trying to be, but he has a very serious side as well.
If he wasn’t as successful as he has been maybe he’d have no right to act and say the ridiculous things he says but he has been, it took a global pandemic to slow him down.
If you’re unwilling to see or believe in Trumps accomplishments by now nothing I say here will convince you otherwise so I’m not gonna spend much time beating a dead horse.
What I keep trying to wrap my head around is waving the American Flag and yelling ‘patriot’ for a draft dodging individual who couldn’t even remember which foot his bone spurs were on. 1876th Com Grp
