“Good morning skiers and riders. This is Johanna with your Mammoth Mountain snow report for Monday, January 5th. We received 14 to 21 inches of fresh snow in the last 24 hours bringing our storm total to 29 inches. The storm is clearing away this morning with strong winds that are expected to decrease through the day. It’s currently 18 degrees at Main Lodge with wind chills of near 0 degrees across the mountain. Today is not a day you’ll regret that extra layer.

Forecast calls for cold temperatures this week with clear skies. We have a delayed start this morning with storm conditions expected to significantly impact operations. Our teams will work to have Discovery Express and Schoolyard Express spinning by 8:30 AM conditions permitting. Nine additional lifts are scheduled to spin no earlier than 9 AM. It’s likely some chairs will be further delayed based on conditions. In total, we have 15 lifts expected for the day, conditions permitting. For a detailed list of expected lifts today, visit the mountain report at mammothmountain.com.
