Area Forecast Discussion – Mon Jul 22 2024
First the bad news. Hotter than normal temperatures will continue thru at least mid week, as that stubborn high pressure ridge refuses to budge. The ridge is now stuck over Nevada and California. That high pressure will continue to trap moisture underneath it, with PWs 0.9 inches. So isolated to scattered t-storms possible each afternoon, particularly over higher terrain, thru Wednesday. Now for the good news. Temperatures will turn the corner after mid week, with a slight cooling trend, as a long wave trough pattern sags South from the PACNW, bringing us some relief from the heat. Updates tomorrow…DMATT
