Bishop, CA – Bishop locals and visitors who enjoy the festive downtown storefronts and shops celebrating “130 Years of Fun at the Tri-County Fair”, can vote for their favorite storefront starting Monday, August 14th on the City of Bishop website at www.cityofbishop.com, or in person at the City Hall or at the Bishop Visitors Center, as part of Tri-County Fair themed storefront decorating contest.
The storefront decorating contest is being sponsored by the City of Bishop, the Bishop Chamber of Commerce, Sierra Wave Media, and the Inyo Register as the first event in a series of storefront contests intended to encourage residents and visitors to visit downtown, celebrate Bishop’s local history and culture, and showcase Bishop’s excellent local merchants.
“The Tri-County Fair has been one the area’s most treasured events for over 100 years, and is still a centerpiece of Bishop’s culture and identity,” said Tawni Thomson, Director of the Chamber of Commerce “It is exciting to extend the celebration of the Fair’s history throughout the business community.”
The Tri-County Fair themed is the first in a series of storefront decorating contests to be rolled out over the year. Upcoming contests include fall colors in the Eastern Sierra and the holiday season.
All businesses are encouraged to enter the contest by decorating their storefronts using the theme “130 Years of Fun at the Tri-County Fair.” All participants will be recognized in local media, and the winning storefront will receive a $100 gift certificate to a Chamber member business of their choice, a voucher for free new advertising with either The Inyo Register or Sierra Wave media, and a voucher for two-hours of free DJ services and Karaoke from Eastern Sierra Entertainment Services. The deadline to enter is August 25th, and businesses are encouraged to get their entries up early to increase their visibility and chances to win. Everyone is encouraged to visit downtown businesses and vote on their favorite decorations based on theme, creativity, and incorporation of merchandise. Individuals can vote at the City of Bishop website, or in person at City Hall or at the Bishop Visitors Center.
