Wednesday at about 11:00am, a report from the highway sent law enforcement, fire fighters, and ambulance crews to Sherwin Grade to search for a vehicle that ran off the side of the road.

The caller reportedly saw a vehicle drive off the embankment in the rear view mirror, but at first emergency workers could not find any skid marks or other signs of the reported vehicle.

With Highway Patrol Officers, Cal Fire, and Long Valley Fire searching, a black pick up truck was eventually found in a gully between the south bound lanes and the north bound lanes, directly across from the vista point on Sherwin Grade.

Despite the fact that the pickup rolled over several times before coming to rest at the bottom of the gully, the driver suffered minor injuries and was reported to have been arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.
