This authentic 2-bedroom, 2-bath log-home-in-the-woods – with office, bonus rooms and workshop — is truly in a category of one.

Built in the early 1920s and fully restored in the 1990s, the original cabin is now the home’s Great Room, which has a vaulted ceiling with skylights, rugged log trusses, and an ultra-efficient wood stove.

Use of original reclaimed materials throughout the solidly constructed residence (on a full concrete foundation) enhances its unique character. Adjacent to the stunning Great Room is a sunny office/bonus room.

Private yet central, cozy yet spacious, move-in ready – there’s not another home like this in the Eastern Sierra.

The bright and cheery kitchen has skylights and plenty of south-facing windows offering views to tall pines. Double glass doors from the kitchen lead out to a large sundeck.

Surrounded by aspen and pine on a 3/4-acre lot, and with Mammoth Creek across the lane, this home has a serene, soothing energy.

In the peaceful, second-floor master bedroom with en-suite bathroom, drift off to sleep listening to the quintessential alpine lullaby – the breeze in the trees and nearby rushing creek.

A second bedroom on the first floor is adjacent to a brand-new bathroom with Drake-milled logs framing an over-sized, custom shower. The laundry room is on the main floor, as are two walk-in pantries/store rooms.

The spacious 2-car garage offers tremendous storage capacity. A large insulated workshop is located on the first floor of the garage, paradise for the carpenter or perfect for a bike/ski tuning center.

On the second floor of the garage is a light-filled 240 sq ft private bonus room with south-facing windows.

While this log cabin home has all the modern conveniences and is located only 2-3 miles from Mammoth’s Main Street area, the historical ambience makes it an incomparably special place – a place you just won’t want to leave!
