The Carson & Colorado Rail Way invites everyone to welcome Locomotive #18 home on Nov. 2, 2019. The Slim Princess IS back in Independence after a successful “visit” with their friends at the Durango & Silverton Railroad . The classic Owens Valley engine will be steamed up and rides will be offered starting at 9 a.m. The day-long celebration will include a Tri-Tip Dinner, live music, up-close and personal views of the Slim Princess and a book signing featuring “SP Narrow Gauge 18 Steams Anew” Author Randy Babcock.
