They say it takes a village – this year, our village put in the effort of one and a half at least.
Inyo Council for the Arts wants to thank all the volunteers who made the 29th annual Millpond Music Festival a resounding success! Some of the small armies include Stage Build, Set-Up, and Teardown, Workshop Tent, Gate – Altrusa, Sound, Kids’ Activities, Merchandise Tent, Security, Artist Hospitality, Park Maintenance, Camping Compliance, Bishop Volunteer Fire Department, Brown’s Campground and Concessions, and everyone and anyone who helped in any way they could.
We knew this year was going to be different. To our attendees – thank you for supporting us in this endeavor each year and, especially this year, for bringing your love of this festival, your compassion, and kindness. We are particularly thrilled that the Millpond family – the audience and our volunteers – complied with our COVID guidelines.
The Inyo County Office of Education’s Night for Educators Party was also a great success. Thank you to our sponsors for the school party: Mountain Rambler Brewery & Bishop Real Estate Rasmussen & Associates.
A big thank you to our Millpond Music Festival sponsors: National Endowment of the Arts, California Arts Council, City of Bishop, County of Inyo, Great Basin Bakery, NPR Reno, Los Angeles Department of Water & Power, Inyo

The moment of silence for the family in Afghanistan we mistakenly killed with a drone was particularly touching and good-vibey.
Were there any “moments of silence” for the 13 members of the military that were killed?
yes
What the holy hell is wrong with you? Mourning the deaths of innocents in war has nothing to do with disrespecting soldiers.
You think those 13 would want to see toddlers dead?
You disrespect those soldiers by tying their names to the killing of children. A horrible mistake was made and we should be humbled. If you can’t see that you become the extreme jihadist.
Looks like we all have some soul searching to do.
The family, killed by by a horrible mistake by our military. The service members, killed by the decisions made by our current government leaders!
Now, now. Can we reply and disagree without being so antagonistic? Pedro, I know you are smart and you can find the words.
Disagreeing with trolling people offering positive comments that hurt no one with deliberately obtuse comments and hoping for political argument?
Pedro. His question was a fair one. It didn’t deserve your response. ( I am liberal, just so you know where I am coming from). Your interpretation of the question was inappropriate. Next time, try replying with your point of view, or asking questions about his intention. Don’t go off on people like our “friend” Inyoface. Intelligent discussions are enjoyable and we should keep it civil.
I’m sure BobK is a good person.
Where anyone’s political leaning is doesn’t matter here. My response would be the same if the Afghan tragedy was brought up when someone was honoring the 13.
The House of Representatives, the Senate, the New York Stock Exchange, and probably a majority of the country held a moment of silence for the 13. Why bring it up about Millpond in response to another prayer?
Read his responses to me. One showing he did want it to be political. Other playing dumb and deflecting with pedantic semantics.
I hate weak trolling. Have some pride in it. He asked for an argument. I pitched him a slow one and he folded at the plate.
I disrespect the marines (not soldiers, except for one) by asking a simple question? Wow!
You came looking for a political argument.
Was there “a moment of silence ” for the 13 American military personnel that were also killed?
I did myself, but I’m not a —- the rest of this comment violates our terms of service—-
