Press release
This weekend the Town of Mammoth Lakes has designated temporary overnight parking sites for visitors in need of parking.
Due to the excessive snowfall this January and the limited availability of hotel and condominium parking, the Town has identified four locations throughout the community, conveniently located near or adjacent to transit routes for visitors to use. Visitors are requested to park their vehicles in the designated areas for the weekend and use the complimentary transit service.
Temporary overnight parking locations are as follows: Hillside Parking Lot, Tavern Park & Ride, Mammoth Ice Rink – Upper Lot, and Mammoth Creek Park. Visitors will not be ticketed during their stay but are asked to vacate the temporary overnight parking sites by no later than Monday morning.
The Mammoth Lakes Police Department is reminding citizens that there is no street parking from November 1 through April 30. Vehicles found parked in violation of these ordinances are subject to receiving a parking citation and/or in some cases, vehicles may be impounded at the owner’s expense.
For additional information about this program please direct the public to the Town’s home page, follow Eastern Sierra Transit Authority on Twitter @estabus or review the winter transit map and routes online at: www.estransit.com.

Too bad they put so many Tesla charging stations in at the park and ride…It was full at 8 am this morning. The Tesla charging station take up half of it now.
They don’t enforce parking on the upper side anyway. There are a hundred cars parked under the no parking signs just below the ski lodges even on a slow day. I would be shocked if they have even handed out one ticket any where near the mountain.
Maybe that’s a good thing?
This is going to be UGLY….
What a cluster.
