Suspect Arrested Following Bishop Shooting Incident
On Sunday, March 23, 2025, at approximately 3:00 PM, Inyo Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the 2800 block of Diaz Lane in Bishop for reports of gunshots fired at a residence. The reporting party stated that her ex-boyfriend, Ruben Granados, arrived at the location and fired a handgun at her while she was inside the residence. After the shots were fired, Granados fled the scene in his vehicle.
The initial investigation determined that the shooting was an isolated incident stemming from a domestic argument between the reporting party and Granados earlier in the afternoon. A law
enforcement broadcast was issued for Granados and his vehicle.
At approximately 4:09 PM, officers from the Bishop Police Department located Granados driving the vehicle. Inyo Deputies and Bishop Officers conducted a high-risk traffic stop on the vehicle at East Line Street and Third Street. Granados was taken into custody without incident and was further identified as Ruben Granados, 36, of Bishop. Further investigation led to the recovery of the firearm.
Granados was transported and booked at the Inyo County Jail on the following charges:
664/187 CPC (Attempted Murder)
246 CPC (Shooting at an Inhabited Dwelling)
12022.1(b) CPC (Felony Committed While Released on Bail)
245(a)(2) CPC (Assault with a Firearm on a Person)
Granados is being held on $1,000,000.00 bail.
This is an ongoing investigation. Anyone with information regarding this incident is encouraged to contact Investigator F. Landaverde with Inyo County Sheriff’s Investigations at (760) 878-
