A small lightning caused fire is burning in the Sierra west of Bishop. The fire, in the Coyote Flat area, is visible from town and listed at about a quarter of an acre in size at 6:00pm.The fire is being worked by helicopter, and is expected to be extinguished in short order.

Update: 6:40 The is on Egypt Creek and now called the Egypt fire. Two helicopters are pulling water out of South Lake to fight the fire. A crew is expected to hike into the area tomorrow to contan the fire. The helicopters are expected to get most of the work done today.
