A 28-year-old Mammoth Mountain employee remains in an induced coma after an accident at Canyon Lodge.
Mammoth Mountain officials report that on Wednesday at about 5:08 pm, a 28-year-old man fell from the south east, fourth floor stairwell at Canyon Lodge while sliding down the hand rail. It appears that the victim hit the downward stairwell I-beam causing a serious head injury. Mammoth Mountain Ski Patrol and medics responded and immediately took the man to Mammoth Hospital where he flown out to Renown Medical Center in Reno. At last word, the 28-year-old remained in an induced coma.
