Sierra Jobs First Appoints Industry Sector Coordinators to Enable Industry-Specific Guidance, Collaboration in the Sierra Region

December 2, 2024 – (TRUCKEE, Calif.) Sierra Jobs First, a regional collaborative representing seven counties in the eastern and central Sierra in the statewide California Jobs First initiative, has appointed an Industry Sector Coordinator for each of the five core industries (listed below) that were identified in the  rigorous Sierra Jobs First strategic planning process as areas with the most potential to grow climate-resilient, equitable jobs within the region, which includes Alpine, Amador, Calaveras, Inyo, Mariposa, Mono, and Tuolumne Counties. The role of each Coordinator will be to support the project funding process and provide expertise on job growth in each field.

Industry Sector Coordinators were selected from a regional RFP process for their deep knowledge of the industries they serve. They are boots-on-the-ground specialists available to provide one-on-one technical assistance and counsel to project applicants, facilitate collaboration, and elevate the voices of the Sierra region in the California Jobs First initiative.

“The Sierra region is unique among other regions in the state, and each of our key industry sectors face the opportunities and challenges of our region differently,” said Erika Harvey, Director, Sierra Jobs First. “The partners we’ve secured to serve the Sierra Jobs First Collaborative as Industry Sector Coordinators allow us to give region-specific and industry-specific guidance to project applicants while growing collaboration and capacity within their sectors.”
