courthouseMarvin Titus of the Bishop area now sits in the Inyo County Jail after a jury found him guilty on eight counts of sex crimes involving victims under the age of 14. At the end of November his sentencing was postponed to January 11th.

According to Inyo Superior Court, the jury found Titus guilty of four felonies and four misdemeanors. The jury returned guilty verdicts on three counts of committing lewd acts on a child by force and one count of lewd and lascivious acts on a child under the age of 14.

The jury found Titus guilty of two counts of misdemeanor sexual battery and two counts of misdemeanor child molesting. The jury also decided as true what are called enhancements to the felony charges. The jury found that two or more felony violations involved more than one victim. Specifically, lewd acts with a child by force and lewd and lascivious acts on a child under the age of 14 involved more than one victim.

Titus was originally scheduled for sentencing on November 30th. His attorney Tom Hardy made a motion to continue the sentencing which was granted by the court. He will now appear for sentences on the eight counts January 11th.
