On Saturday, 20-year-old Rhiannon Giselle Murphy of Bishop rolled her truck southbound on Sherwin Grade. The Highway Patrol said for an unknown reason her truck veered into the center divider and rolled several times. She died from traumatic injuries. Her family and friends will remember the young woman in a memorial service on Saturday. They provided this obituary:
Rhiannon Giselle Murphy
1994-2014
Our beloved angel Rhiannon Giselle Murphy was taken from this earth to be with our loving God in heaven. Although she was taken from us early, she has left a beautiful legacy of love behind her. Rhiannon touched everyone she knew with her amazing spirit, whether she shot you a whimsical smile, made your belly hurt from laughter, or soothed your soul with her angelic voice. She was pure light, love, and joy; she was a gift to this world and we are certain she will be a gift in the next. We will miss her physical presence, but her spirit will live on in the memories of all who were blessed enough to know her. We love you, Rhiannon Giselle.
Rhiannon was born in Bishop, CA January 16th, 1994 and attended Mammoth Elementary School before moving to Bowling Green Kentucky, where she graduated from Greenwood High School in 2012. She returned to Bishop in 2013 and was employed at Taco Bell, saving her money to go to college.
Rhiannon is survived by her mother Kristen Murphy, her grandfather and grandmother Steve and Nancy Murphy, her great-grandmother Lois Johnson, and her uncle Brian Murphy, his wife Cindy Tinker-Murphy and their daughter Kayla and son Sean.
A memorial service for Rhiannon will be held at Calvary Baptist Church at 1100 W. Line Street in Bishop, CA on Saturday, May 31st at 2 P.M. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in memory of Rhiannon to ICARE Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 76, Bishop, CA 93515 to help fund the expansion of their no-kill shelter. RIP young lady I didn’t know you but I’m sure you probably helped me at taco bell. Two passing strangers. Breaks my heart you didn’t get your chance to live a rich full long life. Healing thoughts to her family and friends.
My heart goes out to her family….so sad.
