A Bishop Union High School female student reportedly attempted suicide at the school this morning.

Bishop Unified School District Superintendent Barry Simpson sent a voicemail message to parents, guardians and staff about the situation.
That message said:
“Hello – this is Superintendent Barry Simpson with an important announcement regarding an incident at Bishop Union High School this morning.
“At approximately 11:15 am a BUHS student attempted suicide in a school restroom facility.
“Another student discovered the situation and quickly alerted staff members who immediately called 9-1-1.
“The student was transported to Northern Inyo Hospital and no other students were involved in this incident.
“Thank you.”
