In 2009, Hollywood released a DVD of the Academy Award-winning movie, “Chinatown”. A documentary was also released with it. The Owens Valley Committee invites members and the public to a meeting and showing of the documentary Wednesday, November 10 at 6:30pm at the White Mountain Research Stationn classroom, 3000 E. Line St., east of Bishop.
According to the Committee, the documentary examines the LA Aqueduct and forty years of Owens Valley water issues. The film includes interviews with Owens Valley Committee members and other local residents. After the showing of the film, the Committee says, “Some of our local water luyminaries featured in the documentary will be available for questions and an update onn recent Owens Valley Committee activities.
