President Trump Endorses Rep. Kiley Bill to Prevent Violent Riots
WASHINGTON – In response to the violent anti-ICE riots in Los Angeles, Rep. Kevin Kiley (R-CA) introduced the No Tax Dollars for Riots Act. The bill targets nonprofit organizations that are involved in organizing unlawful riots ineligible for federal funding or tax-exempt status.
“We have learned that the horrific violence in Los Angeles was fueled by taxpayer dollars,” Rep. Kiley said. “This is absolutely unacceptable. I am grateful to President Trump for endorsing my bill, the No Tax Dollars for Riots Act, to assure this is not allowed to happen again.”
In the wake of the Los Angeles riots, it has come to light that the nonprofit CHIRLA received $34 million in state funding. The group, which has previously campaigned to abolish ICE, played a pivotal role in enabling the riots by broadcasting the precise location of ICE operations in real time.
The Judiciary Committee, which Congressman Kiley is a member of, has opened an investigation into CHIRLA’s use of public funds on criminal activity.
