Grey Wolf Update: The wolf known as “The Disperser” was recently tracked back toward the Bishop area. Residents and ranchers are encouraged to use the California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) tracking system to stay alert.

Fishing Conditions: Lake Sabrina is currently ice-free and reported to be in good condition for the fishing season opener.

Road Closures: Significant snowfall has led to the continued closure of Sonora Pass (State Route 108), State Route 120 (connecting Lee Vining to Yosemite), and Monitor Pass. Reopening has been postponed until current inclement weather passes.

Snow Forecast: Snow is expected throughout the Eastern Sierra today at elevations above 8,500 feet.

Woman of Distinction: Christine Bouchard, a U.S. Navy veteran and Assistant County Administrative Officer, is being honored as the 2026 Mono County Woman of Distinction. The award ceremony is scheduled for today at 9:00 AM at the Mono County Civic Center.

Water Restrictions: The Mammoth Community Water District is enforcing “Level 0” conservation measures. This includes prohibiting landscape irrigation on Fridays and between 11:00 AM and 4:00 PM on other days.

Health District Meeting: The Southern Inyo Healthcare District meeting originally scheduled for April 14 was adjourned due to a lack of a quorum. It has been rescheduled for April 30 at 9:00 AM.

Broncos Baseball: The Bishop Union High School baseball team has surged 27 places in the state rankings, currently holding the 3rd place position with an 11-4 record.

Track & Field: The BUHS track team took 3rd place overall at the Yerington Invitational. Their next home meet is this Wednesday at 3:00 PM against Rosamond and Big Pine.
