Sports Highlights: Bishop Broncos Victory

The Bishop Broncos delivered a dominant performance against the Bobcats, securing a 14-2 victory in seven innings.

  • City of Bishop Parks and Recreation Commission: A workshop regarding the City Park Master Plan and survey results will be held at City Council Chambers on Wednesday, April 22nd, at 6:00 PM.

Bishop Paiute Tribe Initiatives

Renewable Energy Expansion

The tribe celebrated the installation of a 29 kW DC rooftop solar system at the Arrowhead Trails Apartments.

  • This project is part of a long-term plan to improve energy efficiency, supported by the California Solar on Multifamily Affordable Housing (SOMAH) program.

  • A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held on April 18th to mark this milestone.

Clean Transportation: The Nuumu Mobility Project

The tribe received a grant to launch the Nuumu Mobility Project, providing clean electric transportation for students and elders.

  • Services: The project includes shuttles for after-school tutoring, a school bus for Head Start preschool, and a passenger vehicle for elder services.

  • Collaboration: The Bishop Paiute Tribe is working with the Big Pine Tribe to ensure safe and accessible results for both communities.


State Budget Concerns

Assembly member Vince Fong has called on Governor Newsom to address a $2 billion discrepancy in the state budget, citing a lack of transparency and budget mismanagement.
