Warren Street Workshop Reminder
Remember the workshop to help shape the City of Bishop Warren Street Improvements project
coming up this Saturday, 12 January. The workshop will be a chance to help choose the details
of the project that will give the project its look and feel. The workshop will be from 10 am to
noon at the City Auditorium on the corner of Line and Fowler Streets. Come invest 2 hours in
helping to shape your community.

The Warren Street project is generally planned to improve the full length of Warren Street with
new pavement, curb, sidewalk, street trees, street lights, and other improvements. If there is
enough money, the blocks of the side streets between Warren and Main streets will also be
improved. The side streets are South, Lagoon, Church, Academy, Pine, and Elm. The money
for the project comes from state and federal gas taxes.

A group of dedicated volunteers have put the project concept together with an eye to making the
street pleasant for pedestrians and shoppers. So, in addition to the general features, their concept
includes pocket parks, seating areas, colored concrete with designs, landscaping, banners,
improved utility poles, bike racks, restrooms, and shade trees. These ideas are show on drawings
prepared for the project and available on the city website. The Saturday workshop is an
opportunity to help decide just how these things will look in the completed project.
Stay tuned to local media, the city website and social media page, and to individual mailers for
more project information.
