Manzanar National Historic Site is honored to host history students from Big Pine High School to share their original research on Alice Piper. Alice Piper was a Paiute student barred from enrolling in Big Pine High School in 1923. She brought legal suit and, in 1924, as a result of Piper v. Big Pine School District of Inyo County, desegregated Big Pine High School.

The program will occur at the Manzanar Visitor Center, 5001 Highway 395, Independence, CA and is free and open to the public. For more information, call 760-878-2194 ext. 3310 or visit our website at www.nps.gov/manz.
