A strong wind event is expected, with advisories issued for parts of California, Nevada, and Arizona, accompanied by dangerous boating conditions on Lake Mead and Mohave. Precipitation outside the Sierra remains low, though higher terrain may see some showers Sunday and Monday. A system Thursday could bring renewed gusty winds.

Winds will increase Saturday afternoon, persisting through Sunday evening, with gusts exceeding 40 mph likely, especially near the Spring Mountains and western Las Vegas. These winds may cause unsecured items to blow away, difficult driving conditions, blowing dust, and reduced visibility. Mohave County will experience similar conditions Sunday, with gusts over 40 mph, affecting US-93 and I-40. The wind advisories are in effect from Saturday evening through Sunday evening.

Light showers are possible in the Owens Valley Sunday morning and Monday afternoon, with minimal accumulation. The Sierra may see 3 to 7 inches of snow above 8,000 feet, with locally over a foot, leading to slushy, snow-covered roads.

Difficult boating conditions due to high waves will persist on Lake Mead and Mohave. The region should prepare for gusty winds, blowing dust, and slick roads, especially in high terrain and near dry lake beds. The weather system Thursday may bring further gusty winds.
