- Isolated-to-scattered showers and thunderstorms expected through the day today.
- Shower activity in Inyo, Esmeralda, and southern Nye counties this morning will intensify into thunderstorm activity through the morning.
- Elsewhere, thunderstorm activity will favor the mountains and higher terrain this afternoon before pushing into desert valleys.
- Thunderstorms will cover less of the region today, compared to Thursday, acting more like a typical monsoon day with “popcorn”-like formation. That said, with thunderstorms that form, expect heavy rain with rain rates between 1-2 inches per hour.
