Isolated-to-scattered showers and thunderstorms expected through the day today.
Shower activity in Inyo, Esmeralda, and southern Nye counties this morning will intensify into thunderstorm activity through the morning.
Elsewhere, thunderstorm activity will favor the mountains and higher terrain this afternoon before pushing into desert valleys.
Thunderstorms will cover less of the region today, compared to Thursday, acting more like a typical monsoon day with “popcorn”-like formation. That said, with thunderstorms that form, expect heavy rain with rain rates between 1-2 inches per hour.
