bleach(Article revised 4/30/2020)

You would think that no one would seriously contemplate drinking chlorine bleach, but after a U.S. President’s remarks at a COVID-19 press conference at the White House, some did*  hundreds reportedly called states’ COVID-19 Helplines asking about it. No, it does not cure the coronavirus, or cure autism or cancer. It is not a cure for stupidity either, just a symptom of it.

[NOTE: Sierra Wave took a closer look at claims that some people drank Clorox or Lysol directly as a result of the President’s remarks. There is no evidence reported in the news that we could find that that is the case. So, in the interest of fairness, we edited this article]

The last time I remember anyone drinking Clorox was a 1-1/2 year old…but he had an excuse. He didn’t know any better! [NOTE: There are a substantial number of articles online that substantiate that people do mistakenly ingest poisons (such as chlorine bleach).]

Tom Boo, MD, and Mono County Public Health Officer issued the following health alert to NOT INGEST Chlorine in any form.
