The Bishop City Council will sit down for a special meeting today at noon in the City Hall executive conference room. They will conduct a closed session regarding employment of a new City Administrator.
Current Administrator Keith Caldwell announced earlier that he and his wife would leave Bishop to return to Georgia to care for his ailing mother. The process to find a replacement began with a search in the local region as well as around the State and Country. Reports indicate the Council has narrowed the field to two candidates – one, local and the other from out of the state.
Administrator Caldwell said that it is likely the Council will make a choice this week. He said that Monday’s interview will be the final interview and it is with the out of town candidate. He added that the candidate of choice will need to pass a physical and background check and agree to terms of a contract.
The special meeting will adjourn to tonight’s regular Council meeting at 7pm at City Hall. The Study Session at 4pm has been cancelled.
Tonight’s agenda includes possible extension of the City’s fuel supply contract, waiver of City Park swimming pool entry fee on July 4th, a possible agreement with a consultant to update the Economic Development Element of the City General Plan, and a possible contract for auditor services.
