Plenty of chances to get a close look at the people behind the names on your ballots. This week will mark forums in Mammoth, Independence and Bishop.

Monday at 5pm at Fires Staion #1 in Mammoth Lakes, the officers associations of the Mammoth Police, Mono County Sheriff’s Deputies and CHP will hold question candidates for Mono County Sheriff. The officers encourage members of the public to come to the forum. Local attorney Dave Hammond will moderate.

Tuesday night at 6pm at the American Legion Hall in Independence, the Civic Club will hold a Candidates Forum which will include candidates for County Clerk-Recorder (Kammi Foote and Merie Hannah), District Attorney Candidates (Gerard Harvey and Art Maillet), and candidates for Treasurer-Tax Collector (Jeff Buss and Alicia McMurtrie).

Thursday night at 7pm at the Bishop Senior Center, the League of Women Voters will hold a forum on District Attorney and Treasurer-Tax Collector candidates. The League will hold another forum Tuesday, May 25th at 7pm at the Bishop Senior Center to present the candidates for the new Bishop Unified School District Board. The candidates are Trina Orrill, Eric Richman, Carl Lind, Jesse Jason, Jim Tatum, John Ellis and Kathy Zack.
