I attended this job fair a few years ago, I was surprised how many younger kids don’t put any effort into their appearance at all, some were dressed like they were going to a flea market.
I asked one kid why he didn’t put on a shirt and some shoes, he was wearing a t-shirt, shorts and flip flops; he didn’t even comb his hair or shave. He said “dude, if they don’t want to hire me for who I am then I don’t think I want to work for them.”
I haven’t seen that kid since then.
Times sure have changed.
