Mono County Health Officer Issues Order on Gatherings | Known Cause of Recent Surge in COVID-19

Increasing concern over the rising numbers of COVID-19 cases being reported in Mono County have prompted the Public Health Officer, Dr. Tom Boo, to issue another order on prohibiting gatherings which are promoting the spread of the coronavirus. Large numbers of visitors and tourists to the Town of Mammoth Lakes, and at campgrounds and campsites, appear to be fueling the pandemic in the county. It is happening across the country. I agree..been staying home only town or doctor…had a doctor appointment in Mammoth last week..could not believe the campers …why not make camp ground social distance each site..cut down on people from LA coming here ..and make sure they wear mask..ML police department should start asking and citing not here… Read more »

Oh okay, i get it. The locals who’ve been quarintening and wearing masks are the ones spreading the virus. Not the tourists who leave their trash all over the ground and who throw fits like little babies when told to put on theirs masks. Right, sure. Okay then.

The Village at Mammoth seems to be a problem area, with live music, and people not wearing masks, from my observation.
