    • Ken Warner February 9, 2012 at 3:30 pm #

There’s not much difference between kids and “adults” these days.

      • STEVEN February 11, 2012 at 10:55 am #

Just watch Jersey shore. what a bunch of drunk over sexed idiots. And the kids these days look up to those retards!

    • Wayne Deja February 9, 2012 at 9:07 pm #

A,unless I am missing something, these two males are ADULTS……..over the age of 18…and apparently associating with an under-age girl.

  2. STEVEN February 9, 2012 at 5:41 am #

    Kids these days.
Too much good ol American TV to make them become this way so young.
    Violence and sex.
Thats all you see on TV.
I got rid of it and have saved a bundle.
I dont miss it at all.
I get all I need on the puter!
    Probably too much at that.
If I had a suggestion to any young people who read this, go to school and learn something and learn a trade early or become like these two stooges!
They dont even look like they could fight their way out of a wet paper bag!
It’s a good thing they did’nt bump into me that night with bad intentions.

    • STEVEN February 9, 2012 at 10:08 pm #

Seriously though, I guess it can happen.

  3. Nes Lessman February 4, 2012 at 10:05 pm #

    Thanks for clarifying that Chief.

  4. Dan Watson February 4, 2012 at 6:20 pm #

This was not a random act, Ness. The victim was specifically targeted and he knew at least one of the suspects.

I disagree with what Sierragrl is suggesting – that if someone isn’t hospitalized, it’s no big deal. I disagree. The victim was beaten and injured and property stolen from him. That’s a crime and the people responsible need to be held responsible. .

I agree Big Rick, I was going to comment on the number of votes on some of the other threads, they have seemed very high of late. I don’t think I’ve ever seen more than 40 total votes on any subject. This seemed to start with the Dr. Bourne articles. I think someone has figured out a way to vote multiple times.
Benett, do you think something is fishy here?

        • Benett Kessler February 10, 2012 at 2:18 pm #

Earlier someone complained that they could vote on a comment each time they logged on, so our webmaster made that impossible and raised the number of possible comments. So, I would say it’s a more accurate representation now of what’s happening. We’ll keep an eye on it.

          • Ken Warner February 10, 2012 at 3:36 pm #

Benett, if you click on the green or red button continuously, the number of clicks you make is the total given.

In other words, click on a button 50 times in rapid sequence — as fast as you can — and that’s the number of you give to that button.

            Thanks, Ken.

  5. sierragrl February 4, 2012 at 9:17 am #

I know two of these kids, neither is a ‘punk’….looks like over-reaction from the PD….used to be if a man dishonored a young woman, her friends could give him a ‘what for’ without a problem…now days they get the book thrown at them…fyi the ‘attacked’ individual was not seriously hurt…no hospital stay or anything like that. I don’t know anything about the ‘robbery’ charges, not sure what that is about. The people commenting on this site seem to be very judgmental especially given we typically don’t have many facts!!!

    • Ken Warner February 4, 2012 at 12:00 pm #

No one has ever let the lack of factual information stop their complete and full judgments from being expressed.

    • Big AL February 4, 2012 at 12:23 pm #

Yes I hear ya sierragrl about the judgement, a lot of that, and misery going around.

    • Wayne Deja February 4, 2012 at 2:59 pm #

sierragirl…….Don’t know a lot of the facts on this one, except for the charges listed…..But you are right about saying if a man, probably drunk or high, dishonors a woman,he should be put in his place…BUT if they use a weapon…..and rob him of something…and conspiracy to doing that,it’s a whole different ball game….Probably means the girl that felt dishonored threatened the guy, then conspired with the two guys to beat on him,and rob him of something at a later planned out time or date…..That isn’t the same as confronting a person that is dishonoring a woman. If you are going to do that, don’t go home or to your vehicle and get some kind of weapon to confront him,for gosh sakes.

    • sierragrl February 8, 2012 at 8:20 am #

A previous post I attempted did not make it on this forum, probably because I had too much detail in it…so, here’s my second attempt. The juvenile arrested for conspiracy, is herself a victim of the assault victim. I expect MLPD to investigate and react appropriately to that crime…and look at it’s affect in mitigating the juveniles behaviour. I know in Bishop, they actively pursue this type of crime, not so sure about MLPD. In 20 years of living here I haven’t heard of anyone being charged with it.

      • Dan Watson February 8, 2012 at 7:04 pm #

The juvenile suspect you mention, sierragrl, was in custody and questioned for an extended period of time. She never told any officer about being assaulted by the victim. Nor did this come up in previous contacts with the Police. You didn’t describe what she was a victim of, so I can’t respond to your comment questioning whether the MLPD pursues that type of crime. If you’re referring to domestic violence or assaults, I assure you we arrest many people for these crimes and they are charged by the District Attorney.

        • sierragrl February 8, 2012 at 11:13 pm #

I can’t post it, the forum blocks it. I tried.

          • Benett Kessler February 9, 2012 at 9:16 am #

Suggestion: If you have information you think the police need, give them a call. 934-2011.

          • Dan Watson February 9, 2012 at 12:49 pm #

Thanks for the recommendation, Benett. It’s difficult to investigate an alleged crime when it’s reported on a website by someone with an anonymous screen name. If sierragrl has information about an unreported crime, I encourage her to contact the Police Department. My extension is 16.

Can we please learn the details of this assault before it’s swept under the rug to protect the interests of the North Village business owners or overshadowed by more “juicy” child sex triangle news? There have been rumors of a group that targets late night revelers on their way to their cars or walking home. Have they finally been caught? Was the victim known by his assailants or was this a random act? Were the deadly weapons rocks, bricks, skateboards or knives? It is important for local parents to learn these details in order to better advise family and friends about where to go at night.

  7. Wayne Deja February 3, 2012 at 4:50 pm #

Ahhh,The Village in Mammoth Lakes……..Sounds like a good place to take the family……

    • Big AL February 4, 2012 at 1:12 am #

Nice post there Wayne, good dig on the community for their involvement in this incident, do you think the Town should all be booked for conspiracy?

Seriously though … What good was your comment?

    • Charles James February 4, 2012 at 9:54 am #

Fact is, Mammoth Lakes IS a very good place to take your family…well, admittedly if you can afford it. Nevertheless, whether at the Village or pretty much anywhere in Mono and Inyo counties, our crime rate is very low by comparison to other areas in the state and cases such as this one are rare.

Yet, there always seems to be at least one person on these posts that seems to leap at any opportunity to disparage Mammoth Lakes and for some reason Wayne, you often seem to be that person. Why is that? Why do you live here? You do live here?

Punks, lock them up and throw away the key!
