The Inyo Narcotics Enforcement Team reports another methamphetamine seizure on Highway 395.

Task Force Commander Jeff Hollowell reports that shortly after 10:00 am on Sunday, a Highway Patrol Officer in Lone Pine stopped a vehicle for a routine traffic violation and arrested the driver for being unlicensed. INET officers said that the driver, 21 year old Pablo Lopez of Riverside, made conflicting statements to the CHP officer so a CHP K-9 was requested from the Bishop office.

Officers report that the dog alerted to the rear of the vehicle, where a search by the CHP turned up a half pound of methamphetamine. INET officers that we spoke to said that the methamphetamine may have been headed to the Carson City area. Officers report that the methamphetamine has a potential street value of $27,500.

Lopez was booked on possession of a controlled substance for sale and transportation.
