Measure J falling short of required votes

IN EARLY COUNT, SOUTHERN INYO HEALTHCARE DISTRICT’S MEASURE J SHORT OF GOAL

As of 8 p.m. Tuesday evening, the Southern Inyo Healthcare District’s Measure J had fallen short of the required two-thirds, plus one, vote count.

With 918 votes counted, 494 were yes votes, 424, no.

There were no additional updates early into this morning.

I don’t really understand these “measures” put on the ballots,but how it was explained to me,it seems a special tax for us to pay for some type of “bail-out” or to pay for bankruptcy proceedings brought on by the hospital…if that’s the case,I’m glad it was voted down…just because our… Read more »
