merrygoroundI found a little eatery in Lone Pine that serves Chinese food. It’s called the Merry-go-Round and it’s owned by Dan and Judy Siegel. Judy originally owned the China Garden down in Ridgecrest. So I thought I’d stop by and give it a food review. The eatery is fairly small with 12 tables, but you can sit outside if the weather suits your fancy. I ordered Kung Pao Beef and was pleasantly surprised that it came with a nice rich brown sauce that was not too spicy. The beef was tender and it was accompanied by baby corn, water chestnut, broccoli, mushrooms, and peanuts. I also ordered Chicken with garlic sauce. It was blended with an almost creamy, medium garlic sauce and had chunks of chicken, green and yellow onion, spinach, black mushrooms, chili flakes, carrots and peas. Very flavorful. The Merry-Go-Round has a nice selection of bottled beer to go with their food. I liked this place which serves quality food at a good price. Overall I rate the Merry-go-round above average and it gets 2 1/2 out of 5 stars.
The Merry-Go-Round is located at 212 S. Main Street in Lone Pine. Its open daily from 11am to 1pm for a buffet lunch and 4:30pm to 8:30pm for dinner.
