New bands, new patrons and a full town. The 22nd Mammoth Lakes Jazz Jubilee moved along swimmingly. Thunder, lightning and rain dampened things a bit on Friday of the festival, but then things cooled off nicely.
Ken and Flossie Coulter of Mammoth wrapped up paperwork and a review of the four days. Flossie said volunteers and managers did a superb job. She said every site was “festive.” It’s an event that brings the community together, said Flossie. She called it a labor of love for hundreds of people.
How were crowds this year in the face of the economic downturn? Down a little bit but still thousands of visitors, many of whom said they planned to spend another week in Mammoth Lakes where temperatures are not in the triple digits.
