Maddy gives her all to new animal shelter

Madeline Morrison

Nine-year old Madeleine Morrison, know as “Maddy” to her friends and family, made a very grown-up decision recently when she chose to help ICARE with their “Raise the Roof—a Cause for Paws” campaign to build a new Animal Shelter and Pet Adoption Center in Big Pine. She emptied her piggy bank (seen here holding the change from her piggy bank–photo by dad, Michael Morrison) and donated $202.35!
Maddy is a fourth grader at Round Valley School and loves animals. In fact, she’s been riding horses and mules at the Double L Ranch since was just 3 years old! She also helps her parents, Michael and Venetia, with all the foster dogs that come through their home, giving them lots of love and attention before they go to their adoptive homes. Maddy has pledged her piggy bank savings to ICARE until all the funds are raised for an Animal Shelter we can all be proud of. If you’d like to help, visit: www.ICAREforPets.org

….Such a nice story to see early Thursday morning on what’s going to be a LONG day for me having to go to Bakersfield….I LOVE DOGS…..no different than family members, and kinda wish I could volunteer help at the shelter….but if I did,a good chance of attachment issues I’d get and end up with 25 dogs running around my house and yard……Good job Maddy !!!!!!….
