FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
LPPSR Domestic Water Main Break/
**Boil Notice**
Monday, November 10th 2025 – At approximately 7:39 am Sunday morning November, 9th 2025. Water to the Reservation suddenly decreased in pressure. Tribal Members alerted the Water Operator, who began his careful investigation. Using our state-of-the-art Domestic water system he was able to detect a break. Work Crews began assessing the situation and trying to locate the break. The community was notified at 9:10 am. Once the break was located, it was clear that a quick fix was not possible as it was a 6-inch water main line break. Chairman Swab arrived on scene and began coordination efforts with adjacent utilities per our Tribal Communications Protocol. A solution was not found by the end of day. Water distribution continued through the evening. the Crew reconvened this morning to replace the broken cap and insert a thrust block to ensure future issue wont arise. Today at 1pm they will start by injecting water to the mainline and flushing the system. By 3pm well have full pressure assured the system passes all its testing. The Water Operator is issuing a Boil Notice for all tribal residents until further notice. This Event is a prime example for the need to be prepared for situations as these., and the need for proper allocation of resources to ensure parts are on the shelves and the teams are ready to mobilize. This statement aims to show the Lone Pine Paiute-Shoshone Tribes commitment to supporting its members through difficult times by continuing water distribution to tribal members and keeping the community informed as more develops. Unforeseen emergency situations can be mitigated by staying prepared and always being resilient. Remember to always have a couple of gallons of non-potible water on hand in case of emergencies.
