The Lady Eagles lost 4-0 to get second place in the CIF Championship.
The Lone Pine Lady Eagles played the Mission Prep Christian High School Royals for the CIF Central Section Championship in Arroyo Grande on Thursday. The Lady Eagles walked into a packed house at Arroyo Grande High School. Many fans from both sides showed up to watch the matchup. Unfortunately, the Lady Eagles magical run finally ended with a 4-0 loss against the Royals. Quote “Our team should be proud of our season and proud of getting second place in this tournament. Although it was a tough loss, these girls had a good run and it was fun to be a part of.” The offence for the Lady Eagles could not get anything going against the velocity of Mission Preps starting pitcher Roxanne Guerra. Madison Reiser did her best to keep Lone Pine in the game with another excellent pitching performance. Betzy Alvarado tried to get the offence going a couple of times with some clutch hits but no runs came from her efforts. The season is now over and the Lady Eagles are looking to come back strong next year although they will miss their seniors Mariella Nava and Madison Reiser. Nava is going to Long Beach City College next year to play volleyball and is still undecided if she is going to continue her softball career. Madison Reiser is going to Antelope Valley College to play softball for the Marauders. Quote, “I am going to miss those seniors. I only got to coach them for one year and it was incredible. I wish them the best of luck with their futures.” – Coach J. Kinberg
