Hello,
My new book for elementary school children (4th grade and up) is titled MY VISIT TO MONO LAKE, by Monica Jones with David Carle. The voice of 9-year-old Monica Jones was chosen to explain what she learned from rangers at Mono Lake about its salty water, tufa towers, aquatic life and birds, volcanoes, the successful effort to save Mono Lake, visitor centers, and other attractions nearby. The paperback book includes 26 color photographs and is now available at Amazon.com or at CreateSpace
It will also be available soon at Eastern Sierra bookstores (by about December 13) and in a few weeks at other online book sellers.
All my royalties on this title will be donated to the Friends of Mono Lake Reserve, which is helping to keep the Mono Lake Tufa State Natural Reserve open. Thanks much,
David Carle

David Carle is a really good writer and local historian. If you really want to know what it was like in the 1930’s around June Lake and Mono Lake when they were digging the LADWP bypass aqueduct from Mono Lake — read “Mono” by David Carle. Know what we lost to L.A.
