LADWP press release

The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) launched eComment on January 19, 2019, on The Board of Water and Power Commissioners’ agenda homepage. The new eComment function allows members of the public to offer comment remotely on any agenda item or subject matter under the Board’s jurisdiction, beginning when the agenda is published – three days prior to a Board meeting – until the Monday evening before the scheduled meeting.

Constituents are not always able to attend Board meetings in person to give input to the Board for consideration. eComment provides another channel for stakeholders to weigh in on important issues.

“eComment is a great online tool to increase meeting participation,” says LADWP General Manager David H. Wright. “This also demonstrates our continued commitment to improving the customer experience, which includes giving members of the public another option to provide input to our Board on issues that matter to them.”

The eComment period opens at 10:00 a.m. on the Saturday before the scheduled Board meeting, and will close on the Monday before the meeting at 6:00 pm. Comments are then exported into a report and distributed to the Board of Commissioners as well as those in attendance at the meetings.

These comments become part of the official Board record just like all other public comments provided in person.
