Gear up the kids! The Kids Adventure Games are coming to Mammoth Mountain Friday and Saturday, August 1 and 2, 2014 for kids ages 6 through 14. Teams of two will navigate their way through wild terrain to find predetermined checkpoints to complete their journey.

The Kids Adventure Games are an to opportunity for kids in teams of two to experience the thrill of adventure racing, learn teamwork skills, have fun and build confidence in a one-of-a-kind outdoor experience created just for them. They will need to work together to complete a variety of sports and problem-solving challenges.

“The idea behind the race is to create an event that has all the fun things we dreamed about as kids. With ziplines, slip and slides, rope bridges, tubing, mud crawls and anything else we can dream up, the kids will have a true adventure and an incredible time,” explains Billy Mattison, Race Director. “We want the kids to cross the finish line pumped up with smiles on their faces and a feeling of accomplishment.”

Friday, August 1 is the check-in day for the teams with an optional Skills Clinic where participants will rotate between biking, climbing, and Teamwork and Adventure Racing 101. Saturday, August 2 is race day starting at 9:00am with an after party and awards ceremony at 2:00pm.

Horizon Organic will be serving their delicious Mac & Cheese, Crackers, and Organic Milk Boxes to all the superstars participating in the Kids Adventure Games! A special Mom’s and Dad’s VIP Tent will be set up at each resort with cheer cards, complimentary snacks & coffee and special viewing tips.

The intent of the Kids Adventure Games is to challenge participants and teams physically and mentally while exploring and experiencing a mini-expedition. A variety of disciplines are encountered during the race. The courses will be challenging, exciting, adventurous, and fun.

Space is limited and pre-registration is required. Teams of two cost $150 and the optional clinic is $50 per kid.
