A favorite citizen of June Lake has died following a construction accident.
Authorities have not provided many details about what local residents say was the death of BZ Miller in recent days. The Mono Sheriff’s Office did say, “BZ Miller had an accident in June Lake. He was taken to Mammoth Hospital and then flown out to Renown. He passed away at Renown in Reno due to the accident. This is not a Mono County Sheriff’s Coroner case due to the fact that he did not pass away in our county.”
Local contractor Don Morton said, “The community will be a different place without him.”
We had posted a story in July about the rescue of a baby bald eagle. BZ Miller had helped in that successful effort. Miller and two other men had created a makeshift platform in a tree in Mono County where the bird was able to perch and fly away.
We hope to bring you more information when it becomes available.
