They’re winners. The Inyo County exhibit at the California State Fair in Sacramento and the people who put it all together. Rich and Kathy White of Independence spearheaded the work that led to the gold-ribbon-winning exhibit.
The Whites built the exhibit on the theme of the 2009 California State Fair of “Weird, Wild, and Wacky.” Another W-word was added to Inyo’s exhibit – wonderful.
The exhibit features a large panel of rodeo finals action provided by the Bishop Chamber of Commerce, a video from us here at the Sierra Wave, plus materials from the Agricultural office, Death Valley Natural History Association, Furnace Creek Resort, a video from Manzanar National Historic Site, plus a video from the Lone Pine Film History Museum.
The Independence Fruitcake Festival is featured on a sandwich board and meets the “weird and wacky” theme.
