BISHOP, Calif. — The Inyo National Forest is pleased to announce that Sarah Clawson, District Ranger on the Prescott National Forest, will serve as Acting Forest Supervisor on the Inyo National Forest for the next four months beginning September 12, 2022. During this time, Lesley Yen will be serving as Acting Forest Supervisor on the Coconino National Forest.

Sarah has been a District Ranger on the Prescott since 2014, however she began her Forest Service career in 2010 working in fuels management. From 2012 to 2014, she served as Deputy District Ranger on the Mammoth and Mono Lake Ranger Districts here on the Inyo National Forest, during which time she went by the name of Sarah Tomsky.

“I am thrilled to be serving as the Acting Forest Supervisor of the Inyo National Forest,” said Sarah. “I look forward to returning to the magnificent Eastern Sierras, where I can support our employees and the communities they serve.”

Sarah holds a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts degree from Washington University in St. Louis, and a Master’s of Science degree from the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor (Environmental Policy & Planning and Conservation Biology).

In her free time, Sarah can be found road biking, hiking, kayaking, playing the electric bass and spending as much time with her husband Jason and their two dogs.
