Inyo National Forest to host three job fairs in January


BISHOP, Calif., December 20, 2023 — Inyo National Forest will be hosting three special events this coming January to help applicants in entry-level jobs navigate the application process. The Forest will be hiring in several program areas including fire, recreation, OHV, wilderness, archeology, engineering maintenance and visitor services.

Positions in both permanent-seasonal and temporary wildland fire are entry-level GS-3 to GS-4 Forestry Aids and Technicians, opening on USAJobs.gov from January 2 – 24, 2024. Visit the Region 5 Wildland Firefighting webpage for more information and upcoming special events also in January, in both Redding and Sacramento. Expected start dates would be in late May or June 2024.

Non-fire temporary positions are also entry-level GS-4 to GS-7 and WG-3 to WG-5 and opening on USAJobs.gov from January 24 – February 7, 2024. Expected start dates will be in early July 2024.

Positions are available within all four ranger districts, so applicants should select anywhere they would be willing to work for Inyo National Forest (Lee Vining, Mammoth, Bishop and Lone Pine).

Once hired, employees can also more easily be re-hired if their term is a temporary appointment.
