Press release
The Inyo County Board of Supervisors is seeking an individual or organization to design, transport, construct and manage the Inyo County display at the California State Fair and is accepting letters of interest from qualified parties.
The display is to be designed in order to showcase the County while conforming to the fair’s annual theme. The display design may include the elements of art, commerce, culture, ethnic heritage, history, industry, life-style, natural resources, recreation, and/or tourism. Prior displays have included large-scale maps, replica buildings, video presentations as well as social media experiences. Printed materials have also been made available. The display will be open the duration of the California State Fair from July 8 through July 24 and will require staffing 12 hours each day.
The Inyo County Board of Supervisors has appropriated $13,000 to support the exhibit. These funds represent the entire County contribution. From these funds the display operator must provide for the design, construction, management and staffing of the booth. This includes transportation to and from Sacramento. A number of cash awards are presented to participants at the fair. The individual or sponsoring organization will be eligible to receive any cash award.
Interested parties are asked to submit a letter of interest no later than December 11, 2015. Based on the level of response the Board may request additional information from candidates and negotiate a contract or may initiate a more formal request for proposal process.
All letters of interest should include the full name and address of the individual or organization and a statement of qualifications. Respondents must also demonstrate an understanding of the requirements for the display and include a statement acknowledging that the total funds available are $13,000.
Questions may be submitted via email to: [email protected] no later than December 8, 2015.
Letters of interest should be addressed to:

Would like to thank the Whites, Rich and Kathy for doing it for so many years. Thay did an award winning job, which brought awareness and much tourism to our county. Thank you! Your shoes will be hard to fill.
Interesting how the county has money to waste on certain agendas such as this one and also to purchase a home and property in Bishops city limits many many months ago to move the Bishop wellness center into and they are still paying rent and located on Short St.. What a waste of state and county tax dollars, your money and mine!
