Free Tire Disposal at Local Landfills This Weekend

A free tire disposal collection event will be held from 7:30 am – 3:30 pm this weekend on the following schedule:

• Bishop Landfill and Lone Pine Landfill: Saturday, April 25 and Sunday, April 26

• Big Pine Transfer Station: Saturday, April 25

• Independence Landfill: Sunday, April 26

Fees for disposal of tires will be waived during the event. Regular charges will apply for all other disposal.

County residents may dispose of up to nine (9)* passenger or truck tires without rims. (No heavy equipment tires.) Tire dealers are not eligible for the fee waiver.

*Note: California law prohibits the transport of more than nine tires at a time.
