Inyo County accidentally issued a county-wide evacuation order due to a technical error. We apologize for the unnecessary concern.

Due to the “Cinder Complex” lightning fires, Big Pine is currently under an evacuation WARNING, and Big Pine Canyon/recreation area remains under an ORDER.

If evacuation WARNINGS are upgraded to ORDERS, Big Pine Inyo County accidentally sent out a county-wide evacuation order. Some alerts went out to Inyo County as well. This was a technical error and we apologize for creating unnecessary concern.

Due to the “Cinder Complex” resulting from lightning fires today, the community of Big Pine is currently under an evacuation WARNING, and Big Pine Canyon/recreation area is under an ORDER.

Should these warnings get upgraded to ORDERS, Big Pine Fire will sound the station fire alarm 3 consecutive times.

There are additional evacuations that remain in place for the Rock Fire.
