More than 1200 Inyo County students will take part in the community outreach program of the Fourth District Court of Appeal in Riverside. Court cases from Inyo do go to the Fourth District.
Thursday, the justices will hold court at Bishop High School Auditorium. They will hear two cases. One case involves the appeal of a man convicted of robbing a convenience store and shooting the store clerk to death. The other case also involves a shooting death.
After argument, justices, staff and local court officials will team up and visit students in the ninth to twelfth grades to discuss the courts, the law and education.
The justices will hold oral arguments at 9:30am and 10:00am. Interested members of the public are also invited to attend.
